Jewelry Care Guide
Important: How to Make Your Jewelry Last Our pieces are designed to be fashionable and stylish. However, because they are plated jewelry (not solid gold), they require special care to maintain their shine.
We are not responsible for damage or tarnishing resulting from improper care, exposure to chemicals, or natural skin acidity. Please follow these strict guidelines to keep your pieces looking new:
1. The "Last On, First Off" Rule
-
Always put your jewelry on after you have applied perfume, lotion, hairspray, and makeup. Chemicals in these products are the #1 cause of stripping the gold plating.
-
Take your jewelry off before changing clothes to avoid accidental pulling or breaking of chains.
2. Strictly No Water or Sweat
-
Never wear your jewelry while swimming, showering, or exercising.
-
Chlorine, salt water, and fresh water can damage the plating instantly.
-
Sweat is acidic and will tarnish the jewelry. If you sweat while wearing it, wipe it down gently with a dry cloth immediately.
3. Skin pH Levels (Why jewelry turns green)
-
Every person’s skin has a different pH balance. If your skin is highly acidic, it may cause the plating to fade faster or turn your skin green.
-
This is a reaction to your specific skin chemistry, not a defect in the product. We cannot accept returns for tarnishing caused by skin pH reactions.
4. Proper Storage is Mandatory
-
When not in use, jewelry must be stored in a closed box or pouch to protect it from air and humidity.
-
Do not leave jewelry sitting out in the bathroom or on a dresser, as moisture in the air will cause oxidation.
5. Friction & Wear
-
Plating naturally fades over time with friction. Rings and bracelets naturally experience more wear than earrings.
-
Avoid wearing jewelry while sleeping, as friction against bedding can wear down the plating and weaken chains.
